Zurich is worth a (marathon) visit!
The Zurich Marathon will never be a major European marathon. But with an elevation gain of only 25 meters Zurich is a very fast race. A course record of 2:08.20 certainly makes it one of the fastest courses in Europe. But the Zurich Marathon also offers a very special running experience. Thousands of people and a wide variety of music groups from rock to Swiss folk music cheering on the runners create an atmosphere beyond compare. The heart of the City of Zurich with Bahnhofstrasse, the most expensive shopping mile in the world, the deep blue lake, and snow-covered mountains in the background are some of the highlights of the City Marathon.
