A marathon to be enjoyed
The Lucerne Marathon has a reputation as a "marathon to be enjoyed". It not only offers beautiful scenery along Lake Lucerne with a race course leading across Lake Bridge and past the Culture and Convention Center four times – enjoyment also means musical entertainment: 21 music groups keep the runners going for 21 kilometers around the Horw peninsula. The race without elite participants, but with prominent testimonials and pacemakers, ends at the Swiss Traffic Museum across a specially designed footbridge. Everybody who finishes a marathon or half marathon or the 13 km trial course is considered a winner.
