Urban and beautiful
The Geneva Marathon was initiated by a group of young runners in 2005. Enthusiastic about the mythical run, their goal was to revive the marathon in Geneva after the Marathon International de Genève (MIG) had been abolished in the eighties. The racetrack leads through the city center in two loops and along the beautiful lakeside in view of Geneva’s famous Jet d’eau. Thanks to this new route, Geneva presents itself from its most beautiful side to the runners, companions and spectators, and the run can be experienced from up close.
